Is Hamza Ali Abbasi distancing himself from sister Dr Fazeela’s money laundering case?

Actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has broken his silence regarding the controversy surrounding his sister, Dr Fazeela Abbasi, who is facing money laundering allegations.

Posting on Instagram on Friday, Abbasi addressed reports linking him to the case after the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) registered two separate cases against Dr Fazeela. He clarified that he has no involvement in the investigations. “I have seen my name being mentioned in connection with allegations against my sister,” he wrote. “I am not under investigation by any agency, nor am I involved in this matter in any way.”

Abbasi expressed support for his sister, describing her as a successful professional with an independent career. “She is my family, and I stand by her with love and support. I have complete confidence in her integrity and believe her side of the story deserves to be heard. I trust that our institutions will ensure justice and the truth will prevail,” he stated.

He also requested that he not be asked to comment further on the ongoing case, emphasizing that it is sub-judice and entirely Dr Fazeela’s decision if or when to speak publicly. Abbasi warned that any continued association of his name with the case in media reports could prompt legal action.

The FIA has filed two cases against Dr Fazeela: one involving alleged money laundering in the Commercial Banking Circle and another over operating an unregistered clinic.
