Islamabad police cop fired on charge of robbery in Korean envoy’s residence

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police have dismissed a head constable from service after he was found guilty of robbery in the residence of the Korean ambassador.

The police head constable, identified as Muhammad Tariq, was fired from service on the recommendations of an inquiry committee.

The inquiry committed had recommended the dismissal from service of the said head constable.

According to the notification, head constable Muhammad Tariq along with other police constables had committed a robbery in the Korean ambassador’s house on October 2, 2017 and made away with valuables including gold.

The Korean ambassador had lodged a complaint against Muhammad Tariq, who was found guilty of robbery by the inquiry committee.

In 2017, he was fired from the service, however, he had challenged his dismissal in the Services Tribunal, which had reinstated him. Later, the Supreme Court had ordered to start an inquiry against the head constable from the very scratch. After a fresh inquiry, the committee found the head constable guilty of robbery and recommended his dismissal from service.
