ISLAMABAD: Pakistan continued its golden run at the Islamic Solidarity Games as Arshad Nadeem claimed gold and Muhammad Yasir took silver in the javelin throw final.
Arshad Nadeem led the competition with an outstanding second throw of 83.05 meters, following strong efforts of 75.44m, 82.48m, and 77.06m. Muhammad Yasir impressed with consistent throws of 70.32m, 74.43m, 72.82m, 73.78m, and 71.79m, securing the silver medal.
Seven athletes competed in the final, but Pakistan’s duo remained ahead throughout, bringing pride to the nation and highlighting the country’s growing strength in athletics.
Arshad Nadeem’s medal victory in Riyadh comes at a pivotal point in his career, as recently he faced a tough setback at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. Nadeem’s best throw in the final was 82.75 m, falling short of the top eight, After battling an injury since July.
