‘Israel’s actions in Palestine war crimes for all practical purposes,’ Shehbaz Sharif

Shehbaz said the rise will be up to 5.75 rupee a unit.

ISLAMABAD: In a stern statement against Israel’s actions in the occupied West Bank, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday characterised them as “war crimes”.

“Encouraged by global silence & without any care for the consequences, what Israel is doing in Occupied West Bank constitutes war crimes for all practical purposes,” Sharif stated.

He further emphasised the human cost of the conflict in a Twitter post, saying, “The killing of 12 Palestinians including five children as a result of the Israeli aerial & ground operations in Jenin Refugee Camp may just be a statistic to the world but they are real people of flesh & blood who are being massacred for demanding their fundamental rights.”

The recent surge in tensions across the occupied West Bank has been fuelled by Israeli forces’ incursions into Palestinian towns, including a raid on Jenin on Monday with the Palestinian Health Ministry reporting at least 12 deaths, including 5 children, and over 140 injuries.

According to the ministry, Israeli forces have killed over 190 Palestinians so far this year.
