Jada Pinkett Smith is facing serious allegations after Will Smith’s longtime friend Bilaal Salaam filed a $3 million lawsuit claiming she threatened him and tried to silence him over details about her personal life.
According to the filing, Salaam says he has been one of Will’s closest friends for nearly 40 years. He alleges that Jada confronted him at Will’s birthday party in September 2021 with a group of people. He claims she warned that if he continued talking about her personal business, he would end up missing or catch a bullet, and demanded that he sign an NDA or face consequences.
Salaam also claims that an associate followed him to his car that night and continued making verbal threats. He says that after Will’s 2022 Oscars incident, he refused to help with crisis management tasks he believed were illegal or morally compromising, and that a retaliatory campaign began against him.
The lawsuit further accuses Jada of intentionally discrediting him when she publicly denied ever seeing Will engage in intimate behaviour with men. Salaam says this denial was false and harmed his credibility.
He claims the situation caused emotional distress, damage to his reputation, financial loss and a decline in his health. He is seeking $3 million in damages.
Representatives for Will and Jada have not responded to the lawsuit.
