Jemima Goldsmith reportedly marries multimillionaire Cameron O’Reilly: Daily Mail

Jemima Goldsmith has married Irish-Australian financier Cameron O’Reilly, more than two decades after her marriage to former Pakistan prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan ended.

Jemima, 52, and O’Reilly, 62, exchanged vows at the weekend, according to the Daily Mail.

The marriage was also confirmed by Jemima’s family, with her sister-in-law Jemima Jones sharing a photograph on Instagram from the celebrations and writing: “Celebrating Jemima and Cameron’s wedding, with my favourite date, what a happy day!”

A relationship kept private

Goldsmith and O’Reilly are understood to have met through their work in film and documentaries and had kept their relationship largely out of the public eye. The Daily Mail reported in May that the couple had become engaged following a year-long romance.

A friend of the couple previously told the newspaper that they had known each other as friends before their relationship became romantic. “They first met through work and were friends for a while before that,” the friend said.

O’Reilly, 62, is the son of the late Irish media magnate and former international rugby player Sir Anthony O’Reilly. An Oxford graduate, he spent years working in his father’s media businesses before moving into private equity.

He later launched Bayard Capital and acquired Swiss smart-meter company Landis+Gyr, where he served as chief executive. The company was sold to Toshiba for $2.3 billion in 2011.

O’Reilly has four children, while Goldsmith has two sons, Sulaiman and Kasim, from her marriage to Khan.

Second marriage

Goldsmith married Khan in 1995, when he was a former Pakistan cricket captain and she was 20. Their nine-year marriage ended in 2004, after which Goldsmith returned to Britain with their two sons.

The former couple have remained connected through their children, and Goldsmith has continued to speak publicly in support of Khan, who has been imprisoned in Pakistan since 2023 and faces multiple convictions that he says are politically motivated.

The wedding comes as Goldsmith and her sons continue to campaign for Khan’s release. His family has raised concerns about his health and conditions in prison, while Pakistani authorities have denied allegations of mistreatment.

Family celebrations

Goldsmith’s latest marriage comes almost a year after the death of her mother, Lady Annabel Goldsmith, the British socialite. Her father, billionaire businessman Sir James Goldsmith, died in 1997.

Members of Goldsmith’s family are understood to have met O’Reilly before the wedding and welcomed him into the family circle, according to the Daily Mail.

The family’s social-media posts offered the first public confirmation of the marriage, although details of the ceremony itself are yet to be been disclosed.
