JoJo Siwa is reassuring fans after a frightening health scare that sent her to hospital over the weekend.
The 22-year-old performer revealed she had been rushed in with severe stomach pain on 28 November. Days later, she shared a health update with her 11 million Instagram followers, saying she is improving but “not in the clear yet”.
“It has been an eventful weekend,” she wrote. “I am doing a bit better. I had a scare with a fever the night after I went to the hospital, but slept and woke up fever free.”
Siwa added that she has been “resting when I can” and “drinking lots of electrolytes”, thanking fans for the “circle of love and support” that helped her through the ordeal.
Her post included photos taken in the ambulance and from her hospital bed, as well as snaps from her Mall of America performance, which took place only hours after the emergency.
Earlier, Siwa explained on TikTok that she had been experiencing increasing abdominal pain while dancing. After calling 911, she was taken to hospital, where an ultrasound revealed she had suffered a ruptured ovarian cyst. She said the cyst was bleeding internally, leading to what she described as “excruciating pain”.
Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that can form on or inside an ovary. Some may rupture, causing significant discomfort and requiring medical attention.
Siwa told fans she will be checked again in one week and plans to continue working while she recovers.
