Karachi receives heavy spell of monsoon rain

KARACHI: Karachi experienced a heavy monsoon downpour on Tuesday, resulting in one fatality.

The heavy rain has created chaos in certain parts of Karachi. Many roads in the city are underwater as a result. Following the rainfall, the Meteorological Department provided statistics, indicating that Saddar Town received the highest rainfall in Karachi, measuring 58 millimetres.

Various areas across the city, such as Scheme 33, Safoora Goth, Pehlwan Goth, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Quaidabad, Landhi, Shah Faisal Colony, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Saddar, II Chundrigar Road, and Tariq Road, experienced heavy rainfall.

In Surjani Town, Sector 7A, near the Tanki Stop, a signboard and a wall collapsed, leading to one fatality and injuring another person.

Earlier today, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Tuesday issued an urban flooding warning for Karachi, Hyderabad and other areas of Sindh in light of expected heavy rains across the province.
