WEB DESK: Rapper Kendrick Lamar has upped the ante in his ongoing feud with Drake, releasing a second diss track named “6:16 in LA” just three days following the single “Euphoria” on Friday.
While J Cole seems to have made peace and respectfully bowed out, Lamar seemingly wants to continue the decades-long feud with Drake at least.

Right off the bat, the title of the song itself delivers a pointed jab at Drake’s penchant for including time references in his song titles, such as “4 PM in Calabasas”.
Lamar also directed sharp barbs at Drake’s crew OVO. In 6:16 in LA, Kendrick Lamar seems to rap about how Drake’s crew might be secretly working against him. “Ever thought OVO was workin’ for me?”
The lyrics of 6:16 in LA also seems to mock Drake that his OVO crew is apparently exploiting him and even that his life may not be safe. “A hundred guys on payroll, and twenty of ’em view you as a target.”
The biggest shock about 6:16 in LA is how it was created with Jack Antonoff. The record producer is famous for working with the likes of Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey, female singers belting out about misshapen love and sad breakups – a far cry from rapping about drugs and feuds.

Some have floated conspiracy theories of how such a bizarre collaboration happened. Some fans have speculated that Lamar’s decision to work with Antonoff is to indirectly show solidarity with Taylor Swift following Drake’s recent track “Taylor Made” that many have interpreted as mocking the billionaire singer.
The public’s reaction to Kendrick Lamar dropping two consecutive singles, both aimed directly and openly at Drake, has been met with a mix of surprise and amusement. While some fans appear to be thoroughly enjoying the feud and all its drama, others are simply going with the flow, observing the ongoing spat with interest.

In the latest chapter of the ongoing Lamar-Drake rivalry sage, Lamar’s latest diss track comes after his initial critique of both Drake and J Cole in a verse featured on the track “Like That” in March. While J Cole responded with “7 Minute Drill” before eventually backing down from the feud, Lamar has persisted in targeting Drake with his recent releases.
