PESHAWAR: Authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have announced major relaxations in lockdown restrictions, allowing businesses and markets to operate without previous limitations ahead of Eid ul Adha.
In Peshawar, the smart lockdown imposed in the city has been lifted, according to a public notice issued by the chief secretary.
All restrictions related to market and business operating hours have been withdrawn, while fixed timings for commercial activities have also been abolished until further notice.
The provincial government, however, advised citizens to avoid unnecessary electricity consumption as part of ongoing energy conservation efforts.
Meanwhile, the Balochistan Home Department also announced relaxation in lockdown measures across the province on the occasion of Eid ul Adha.
According to the notification, the relaxation will remain in effect until June 1, allowing all shops, business centres, shopping malls and markets across the province to remain open.
The federal government had earlier announced lockdown measures nationwide under its energy conservation policy aimed at reducing electricity consumption.
