Lahore finally breathes fresh air as smog lifts

LAHORE: The residents of Lahore finally breathed fresh air on Wednesday as smog lifted, revealing clear skies over the city that has been battling with air pollution.
The air pollution levels in Lahore were reduced significantly and AQI was recorded at 161.
According to recent data, Lahore has dropped to fifth place among the world’s most polluted cities.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) in various parts of the city recorded below 200, showing a marked improvement. In WAPDA Town, the AQI was recorded at 213 and 207 in different areas. On Fida Hussain Road, the AQI stood at 189, while it was 186 at Shimla Pahari. The AQI on MM Alam Road was recorded at 181, and in the Cantonment area it was 179.
The residents of Lahore have been battling with smog for the past two months and this improvement is a welcome relief for the public as the city takes steps to tackle its air quality issues.
