KARACHI: Street crimes, including robberies and murders, have continued to plague Karachi throughout the month of September.
According to data compiled by the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), the city saw a grim tally of 207 vehicle thefts, 5,399 motorcycle snatchings, and 2,464 mobile phone robberies during the month. 62 lives were also lost to violent crimes during the same period.

Of particular concern is the revelation from the CPLC report that motorcycle thefts in September reached a 30-day high, painting a disturbing picture of escalating criminal activities. The middle class appears to be bearing the brunt of these street crimes, as they are disproportionately targeted for motorcycle and mobile phone theft.
