MMA: Brandon Moreno announces break from fighting

WEB DESK: Former Ultimate Fighting Champion (UFC) champion Brandon Moreno on Monday announced his decision to take an extended break from mixed martial arts (MMA) following two consecutive losses and mounting pressure on his mind and body.
Moreno clarified that this break is not indicative of retirement but rather a temporary hiatus. He wanted to give his body a rest and to spent time with his family.
This decision comes after a series of challenging matches, most notably a four-fight series with Deiveson Figueiredo. Moreno won the match to reclaim his title.

Moreno revealed the news on a post on social media platform Instagram, where he explained the need to rest both his body and mind. He acknowledged the toll that MMA at such an elite level and competitions can take on athletes.
Despite recent losses, he remains optimistic about his future in the sport, citing his previous come back from adversity to become a world champion.
While a specific date for his return is not confirmed, Moreno hinted at exploring new training methods and the possibility of cross-training with different teams to improve his skill-set.
Brandon Moreno Carrillo, born in Mexico, clinched the UFC flyweight championship title on two occasions. He made his debut in 2021 and presently holds the second spot in the UFC Flyweight category. In addition to his success in the UFC, Moreno has also competed in matches for the Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA).
