Mohsin Naqvi announces tri-nation T20 series in Dubai

DHAKA: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that a tri-nation T20 series will be held in Dubai before the Asia Cup.
He said that the tri-nation T20 series in Dubai will feature Pakistan, Afghanistan and the UAE.
Speaking to the media after the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Dhaka, ACC President and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said they are in contact with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and that the issue regarding the Asia Cup schedule will be resolved very soon.
Naqvi said all 25-member nations participated in the ACC meeting and collectively decided to work for the development of cricket.
He said that the meeting was held in a very cordial atmosphere and expressed hope that future meetings would continue in the same spirit.

When asked about the Asia Cup, Naqvi reiterated that discussions with the BCCI are ongoing and that an announcement regarding the tournament would be made soon.
Responding to a question about how the participation of the three major boards, which was previously uncertain, was eventually secured, Naqvi said it was not due to him alone but was made possible through the efforts of all ACC members.
Earlier, the annual ACC meeting concluded in Dhaka. The meeting was chaired by Mohsin Naqvi in his capacity as ACC President and PCB chairman, and saw 100 per cent participation from member countries.
During the meeting, the 2025–26 tournament calendar and budget were presented for approval.
It was also announced that cricket has been included in the 2026 Asian Games, to be held in Japan, with 10 men’s and 8 women’s teams set to participate.
Additionally, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, and the Philippines were granted ACC membership, with the council welcoming all three new members.
All members at the meeting reaffirmed their commitment to prioritising the growth and promotion of cricket.
