Motorcycle double ride banned for Iman Hussain’s chehlum: Sindh

KARACHI: The Sindh government announced a ban on double ride of motorcycles across various districts of the province to ensure safety during the observance of chehlum Imam Hussain.
The ban is set to be enforced to manage traffic and improve security during the religious event.

In Karachi, the ban will be effective from August 25 to 27 in the south zone, and from August 25 to 26 in the west Zone. Similarly, the east district of Karachi will observe the ban on August 26.
The ban will also apply to Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, and Larkana ranges, though specific dates for thess cities were not detailed.
The measure was recommended by the Inspector General of Sindh. The aim is to prevent potential disturbances and maintain public order during Iman Hussain’s chehlum.
The Sindh government’s directive includes exemptions for journalists, law enforcement officials, senior citizens, and women. They will be allowed to travel with passengers during the restriction period.

Authorities will be monitoring compliance with the ban to address any issues and ensure that the observance proceeds smoothly and safely.
