Motorway Police launches cashless fee payment system for driving licences

ISLAMABAD: The Motorway Police have launched online setup for the citizens applying for driving license, aiming to simplify the process and improve convenience for citizens.

The facility marks a step towards digitising public services and under this newly introduced system applicants are able to pay their driving licence fees through mobile wallets. They can send money using Easypaisa and JazzCash as well as through banking apps, according to a spokesperson.

As per the initiative, citizens won’t be required to stand in long queues, waiting for their turn to receive their license as they by now are simply required submit their fees online which will save both time and effort of the individuals.

According a spokesperson, QR code-based payment machines have been installed at the Islamabad Driving Licensing Authority to facilitate quick and secure transactions.

The spokesperson added that the QR code payment facility will soon be expanded to licensing authorities in Sheikhupura and Quetta.

Officials say the move will reduce additional expenses for applicants and enhance transparency in the fee collection process.

The Motorway Police described the initiative as part of broader efforts to promote digital payments and improve service delivery across the country.
