Nadra official shot dead near office in Peshawar’s Hayatabad

PESHAWAR: A deputy assistant director of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) was shot dead near the parking area of the authority’s office in Peshawar’s Hayatabad area on Friday, police said.

The victim, identified as Fahad, was parking his vehicle and heading towards the office when he was attacked, according to police.

Police said the attacker’s identity and motive were being investigated. Initial evidence suggested the incident may have stemmed from a personal enmity, they added.

An investigation is under way to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing and identify those responsible.
