Navy, Coast Guards foil smuggling attempt in Balochistan: ISPR

Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards, in coordination with the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC), have foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of contraband in Balochistan’s Pishukan area, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.

According to the the military wing’s media, the joint intelligence-based operation was conducted on actionable intelligence regarding the suspected smuggling activity.

The operation resulted in the seizure of a sizeable quantity of liquor and illegal medicines, ISPR said.

The confiscated items were handed over to the Pakistan Coast Guards for further legal proceedings, according to the military’s media wing.

ISPR said the operation demonstrated the effectiveness of coordination among relevant agencies in combating smuggling and other illicit activities.

It also reaffirmed the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards’ resolve to prevent the use of Pakistani waters and territory for illegal activities, the statement said.
