NBC canceled shows: Which series have been axed so far?

NBC’s 2026 television shake-up is underway, with several major series already getting the axe as the network adjusts to changing viewing habits and programming priorities.

Among the biggest surprises are Law & Order: Organized CrimeThe Kelly Clarkson Show and Access Hollywood, as NBC reshapes both its scripted and daytime slate.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBCUniversal has said the changes are aimed at better aligning programming with shifting audience preferences and what local stations want.

‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ among biggest shocks

One of the highest-profile cancellations is Law & Order: Organized Crime, which has been axed after five seasons.

The Christopher Meloni-led spinoff first premiered in 2021 and saw the actor return as Detective Elliot Stabler. Following the news, Meloni posted an emotional Instagram video thanking fans for supporting the character.

Medical drama Brilliant Minds, starring Zachary Quinto, has also been cancelled after two seasons, while freshman comedy Stumble failed to secure a renewal after its debut season.

Daytime TV hit hard by cancellations

NBC has also made major cuts to its daytime lineup.

After nearly 30 years on air, Access Hollywood and companion programme Access Daily are ending. The Kelly Clarkson Show will also wrap after seven seasons, with Clarkson previously saying she wanted to prioritise family.

Meanwhile, Karamo will not return for a fifth season, while The Steve Wilkos Show is ending after 19 seasons.
