NEPRA jacks up power tarrif

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Tuesday jacked up electricity prices by Rs1.25 per unit in the wake of monthly fuel adjustment.

According to the official notification issued by the power regulatory authority, the price hike would be effective for the bills of July, August and September 2023.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested an increase in power tariff on May 24 under a third-quarter adjustment. The increased costs will apply to all consumer categories expect for the lifeline consumers and K-Electric users.
