New documentary explores assault allegations against Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter


Investigation Discovery produced a new documentary titled

WEB DESK: Investigation Discovery (ID) produced a new documentary titled “Fallen Idols: Nick and Aaron Carter” that will examine the assault allegations against Backstreet Boys’ singer Nick Carter.

The four-part documentary will also delve into the tumultuous life of Nick’s brother Aaron Carter, who battled severe mental health and drug issues during his short lifetime.

Following the success of “Quiet on Set”, the network is once again looking to the early aughts for the next scandal to investigate.

The four-part documentary will look at the rise of the Carter family, especially the two brothers in the late 1990s and the early 2000s. Their fame is contrasted against the constant controversies and personal life struggles headlong the tabloids in the era.

The documentary in particular is going to investigate accusations of assault against Nick Carter. The Backstreet Boys singer has bee accused of assaulting Melissa Schuman, Ashley Repp and Shay Ruth.

Fallen Idols promises to shed light on both sides, the celeb brothers and the alleged victims. It will explore the intense backlash the brothers faced after speaking publicly about their allegations. The three accusers are also being reportedly interviewed to provide a balanced view and a platform for the alleged victims to have their voices heard.

The documentary will reportedly also examine the tumultuous family dynamics of the Carter family. The family has been in media spotlight since the 90s, with the parents accused of childhood abuse, financial exploitation and neglect by the Carter children. The family also struggled with mental health and drug abuse, having claimed the lives of three of the Carter children before they even reached the age of 40.

Aaron Carter’s passed away in November 2022 aged just 34. His death has been attributed to drowning while abusing drugs difluoroethane and Xanax, found in his body postmortem. The documentary will likely cover the circumstances surrounding his death and its aftermath.

The trailer for the documentary was released late on Wednesday on the network’s official YouTube channel.

Fallen Idols: Nick and Aaron Carter is slated to premiere on May 27 on the network itself.
