No plans for special courts, police stations for electricity theft: power division

ISLAMABAD: The Power Division has refuted reports about the establishment of separate courts and police stations to address electricity theft.
The statement clarified, “There is no truth to the news about setting up separate courts and police stations for electricity theft.”
It was also stated that “all information circulating in the media on this matter is fabricated.” The Power Division emphasised, “There is no plan under consideration regarding this issue.”
The federal government is running a campaign against electricity theft, and “services of all law enforcement agencies are also being utilized for this campaign.”

The statement further noted that “the costs incurred for the campaign to stop theft are not passed on to the consumers.”
