Murree advisory

WEB DESK: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Beenish Fatima has issued a traffic advisory for tourists planning to visit Murree in the coming days.

CTO Murree also mentioned that tourists should not park their vehicles on the road to take pictures, as this can disrupt traffic flow, adding that visitors should cooperate with traffic wardens and district police officers stationed on highways.

The standard operating procedure (SOP) requires a valid driving licence and a fitness certificate for public service vehicles. There will be strict enforcement of SOPs for the entry of large vehicles, and tourists are advised to select vehicles that are well-suited for the journey to Murree, she said.

The advisory stated that vehicle wipers and lights should be in proper working condition. Due to slippery roads and dangerous turns, speeding should be avoided. During driving, do not violate one-way rules or overtake improperly. All roads in Murree are two-way, so avoid making double lines.

She instructed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Traffic Abrar Sarwar and traffic officers to perform their traffic duties with honesty. She instructed them to ensure that tourists do not face any difficulties and that the DSP Traffic Murree and other officers remain in the field to provide every possible facility to tourists.

“Being a hilly area, strict adherence to SOPs must be ensured,” she added.
