WEB DESK: Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and police continued their joint Operation Shaban across Balochistan, killing four more militants in the latest round of coordinated operations, according to security sources. The death toll now stands at 83.
The operation is currently taking place at multiple locations, with security forces maintaining pressure through coordinated aerial and ground actions. The sources further said that, since July 5, a total of 121 militants had been killed in Operation Shaban and other security operations carried out in different parts of Balochistan.
The sources said security forces were carrying out both air and ground operations against militants as part of the ongoing campaign aimed at clearing the province of armed elements. They said the latest action formed part of a broader counterterrorism effort that has been underway since earlier this month.
Security forces have reiterated that Operation Shaban would continue until the last militant had been eliminated from the province.
Last week in Ziarat, the military had said that 42 security officials and civilians were martyred during the recent violence, including 27 Balochistan police personnel, 11 army personnel and four civilians.
