ISLAMABAD: In a significant crackdown on illegal gas connections and gas theft, over 250 unauthorised and gas meters have been seized in Islamabad, resulting in disconnections of these illicit connections.
According to a spokesperson for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), multiple arrests were made in Islamabad as a part of the drive against gas thieves under the Gas Act 462-C and 462-D. Those arrested saw their bail requests denied, leading to their transfer to prison facilities, he said.
