WEB DESK: Pakistan has extended its ban on Indian aircraft using its airspace until August 24, according to a official directive issued by aviation authorities.
The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) confirming that the restriction applies to all aircraft operated, owned, or leased by Indian airlines and operators. The directive explicitly states that Indian military flights will also remain barred from using Pakistani airspace.
Operational restrictions remain in place
The latest NOTAM ensures that Indian commercial and military flights will continue to face restrictions on their aviation operations within Pakistani territory.
Airspace restrictions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours have historically impacted commercial aviation, forcing airlines to reroute flights. This extension means Indian carriers operating flights to Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East will continue to utilise longer alternative routes, increasing travel times and fuel costs.
