Pakistan, Russia hold 16th strategic stability meeting in Moscow

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Russia held the 16th meeting of the Russia-Pakistan Consultative Group on Strategic Stability in Moscow, where both sides exchanged views on international security, global stability and arms control issues.
According to a joint press release issued on Tuesday, the meeting was co-chaired by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and Pakistan’s Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tahir Hussain Andrabi.
During the detailed discussions, the two countries reviewed key matters related to arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation, while also discussing broader international security challenges.
The statement said both sides noted a similarity in their approaches on most of the issues discussed during the meeting and reaffirmed their commitment to continue coordination and engagement at relevant international forums.
Pakistan and Russia also agreed to hold the 17th meeting of the Consultative Group next year in Islamabad.
