Pakistan says successfully tests Fatah-IV cruise missile

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Army Rocket Force Command on Thursday conducted a successful training launch of the indigenously developed Fatah-IV ground-launched cruise missile, the military’s media wing said.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the test was aimed at assessing troop operational readiness and validating technical parameters of the missile system, which it described as capable of engaging long-range targets with high precision.

“The training fire was conducted to enhance operational efficiency of the troops and validate technical parameters of various sub-systems incorporated for improved accuracy and enhanced survivability,” the ISPR said in a statement.

It said the missile system is equipped with advanced avionics and modern navigational aids.

Senior officers of the Army Rocket Force Command, along with scientists and engineers from the developing agency, witnessed the training launch, according to the statement.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and the service chiefs of the Navy and Air Force congratulated those involved in the successful test, ISPR said.

The military said the leadership praised the “technical prowess, dedication and commitment” of personnel involved in the development and testing of the F-series missile system.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also congratulated the Army Rocket Force Command, calling the successful test a “major achievement” and a significant milestone in the country’s defence capability.

The development comes less than three weeks after Pakistan conducted a successful training launch of the Fatah-II missile system.

In September 2025, the Pakistan Army also carried out a training launch of the Fatah-IV cruise missile with a reported range of 750 kilometres.
