PCB issues NOCs for foreign leagues, warns of action against ‘unauthorised’ participation

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board has issued no-objection certificates (NOCs) to several players for participation in various overseas leagues.

Spinner Noman Ali has been granted an NOC to play for Lancashire County until September 27. Hasan Nawaz, Hunain Shah, Naseem Shah and Usman Khan have received NOCs to feature in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), while Maaz Sadaqat, Sahibzada Farhan, Sufyan Muqeem and Shadab Khan have also been cleared for the tournament.

Muhammad Haris has been permitted to take part in the CPL from August 7 to September 20, Usman Tariq from August 8 to September 18, and Usama Mir from August 7 to September 21.

Participation in any league without an NOC is not permitted under PCB rules, and playing without one constitutes a violation of the PCB Players’ Code of Conduct, for which the board reserves the right to take action against players if required.

PCB’s earlier warning on unauthorised leagues

The reminder follows a warning issued by the PCB last week against current and former cricketers participating in the Asian Legends League in Zambia, an event the ICC has declared unauthorised.

The board said playing without a PCB-issued NOC would result in a two-year ban, with any current or former player found in violation also barred from holding any position with the PCB or PSL for two years. The board reiterated that all Pakistani cricketers, past or present, must obtain an NOC before featuring in any overseas league, stressing its commitment to ICC compliance and protecting the game’s integrity.
