Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set for a major expansion in its next edition, with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announcing plans to add new venues for PSL 12.
Speaking informally to journalists after the conclusion of PSL 11, Naqvi said the upcoming season will be “bigger and better,” with more cities expected to host matches. The move aims to broaden the league’s reach and bring top-level cricket to a wider fan base across the country.
He also praised the atmosphere during the PSL 11 final in Lahore, highlighting the discipline and enthusiasm shown by fans. Naqvi said the response from the city reaffirmed the strong cricket culture in Pakistan.
PSL 11 ENDS SUCCESSFULLY WITH STRONG SECURITY IN LAHORE
PSL 11 concluded on a high note in Lahore, where over 35,000 spectators attended the final in a peaceful and festive environment.
According to police officials, all 22 matches hosted in Lahore were completed without incident, thanks to extensive security planning. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said a comprehensive four-layer security system was put in place to ensure safety throughout the tournament.
More than 7,000 security personnel were deployed, while units including Safe City, Elite Force, Dolphin Squad, and PRU worked in close coordination. Authorities also confirmed that full protection was provided to both local and international players, officials, and spectators.
Officials described the successful execution of the event as a testament to improved security arrangements and effective coordination among law enforcement agencies.
