Petrol price rises by Rs3.40, diesel by Rs6.72 per litre

The federal government has increased the prices of petrol and High Speed Diesel (HSD) for the third consecutive time, according to a notification.

According to the latest price revision, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs3.40 per litre, while the price of High Speed Diesel has risen by Rs6.72 per litre.

The fresh increase comes after the government raised petrol prices by Rs5.58 per litre and HSD prices by Rs4.18 per litre on Tuesday.

On Monday, the government had raised petrol prices by Rs12.90 per litre and diesel prices by Rs3.72 per litre.

The latest revision marks the third consecutive increase in petroleum prices, further increasing the fuel cost burden on consumers.

The government approved the revised prices following an updated notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

The latest increase comes amid frequent changes in petroleum prices, which are directly linked to fluctuations in international oil prices.

The repeated hikes in petrol and diesel prices have placed an additional burden on consumers.
