KARACHI: A dramatic midair incident unfolded today as Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-217 encountered a serious technical fault en route from Peshawar to Dubai.

The flight was abruptly diverted to Karachi after all three navigation systems onboard the aircraft failed simultaneously, Samaa News reported.

The malfunction, which affected the aircraft’s Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), prompted the crew to take swift action, diverting the flight to Jinnah International Karachi Airport for an emergency landing. With the INS failure, crucial autopilot and related systems also ceased functioning, posing a challenge to the flight crew.

Despite the unexpected crisis, the flight’s captain demonstrated remarkable skill and composure, successfully guiding the aircraft to a safe landing at the Karachi airport, averting any potential disaster.
