PM demands justice for Palestinian genocide by Israel

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for Israel to be held accountable for committing genocide against Palestinian people on Saturday.

Sharif urged the international community to address Israel’s actions and ensure justice for the crimes committed against Palestinians.

Sharif talked about the “severe humanitarian crisis” in Palestine, citing the blockade of Khan Younis that has halted the supply of food and essential necessities. He said there was a need for the international community to enforce decisions from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and United Nations resolutions concerning Palestine.

The prime minister directed the establishment of special arrangements for Palestinian medical students in Pakistan, enabling them to continue their education amidst the ongoing conflict. He said that Pakistan stood in solidarity with Palestinians and highlighted the country’s efforts to provide aid.

Pakistan has dispatched 1,200 tonnes of relief supplies via six Pakistan air force and 1,500 tonnes of aid through three additional ships.

According to reports, recent violence in the region resulted in the deaths of 80 Palestinians in Gaza within a 24-hour period. It also displaced 180,000 Palestinians in Khan Younis over four days.
