PM Shehbaz, Turkmenistan president vow to deepen bilateral ties

ASHGABAT: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, with both leaders underscoring the importance of the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and agreed that enhancing connectivity through land and sea routes would help further advance relations between the two countries.
The prime minister conveyed his best wishes for the people of Turkmenistan and its national leadership, and extended an invitation to President Berdimuhamedov to visit Pakistan next year.
He also thanked the Turkmen government for the warm hospitality extended to the Pakistani delegation.
President Berdimuhamedov expressed appreciation for the prime minister’s visit and his participation in the Global Peace Forum, and voiced Turkmenistan’s desire to expand cooperation with Pakistan in multiple areas of mutual interest.
Both sides discussed future initiatives aimed at promoting economic, trade, energy, and regional cooperation — steps expected to strengthen regional ties and build mutual trust.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Power Awais Leghari, and Minister for Information Atta Tarar were also present during the meeting.
