PML-N woman leader booked for ‘stealing electricity’

LAHORE: A case has been registered against the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) district president in Lahore for allegedly stealing electricity.

According to a spokesperson for the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), PML-N district president Sofia Saeed was caught red-handed stealing electricity by illegally tapping into the power supply.

The LESCO Bulleh Shah division team confiscated the wires used for the illegal connection and handed them over to the police, the spokesperson said.

Electricity theft reporting cell established

According to the spokesperson, the accused caused a loss of Rs0.1 million to LESCO by tampering with the power supply.

The accused had previously been involved in electricity theft cases exceeding Rs60,000, which led to their power meters being disconnected.

The spokesperson further mentioned that legal action has been initiated against the accused by registering a case against them.
