Police encounter in Karachi leaves one injured, other at large

KARACHI: One person was killed and another remained at large after an alleged police encounter took place in Landhi no. 6 near Karbala ground.

According to sources, the encounter occurred during a routine police patrol near Karbala ground, where the police officers attempted to stop two individuals riding a motorcycle.

The sources said that the situation escalated when the accused opened fire to evade capture. During the exchange of gunfire, one of the accused got injured and was arrested.

The injured suspect was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment before being taken into police custody. The police also reported the recovery of weapons and other stolen items from the possession of the suspect, reported by the sources.

Meanwhile, the accomplice of the suspect managed to escape from the scene. A search operation was currently underway as the police intensify their efforts to apprehend the fugitive.
