President Zardari gifts rifle to Maulana Fazlur Rehman

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday presented a rifle as a gift to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F).

Zardari, accompanied by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, visited Rehman’s residence in Islamabad to discuss the country’s current political situation.

According to Geo Urdu, the meeting involved detailed consultations on potential legislation expected in the coming week. Sources have indicated that the discussion also covered JUI-F’s concerns regarding the ruling coalition.

Recently, Maulana Fazlur Rehman has made forceful statements against the government in his speeches. He has demanded new elections and also criticised the government, asserting that it cannot effectively manage the country’s affairs.
