Karachi stadium turned fiery in PSL 11’s 34th clash as emotions spilled over between Mohammad Amir and Faheem Ashraf during the Rawalpindiz vs Islamabad United encounter, leading to both players being fined for breaching the league’s code of conduct.
The incident unfolded in dramatic fashion after Amir was dismissed, triggering a tense exchange between the two players. What began as a verbal confrontation quickly escalated when Amir gestured Faheem to walk back, prompting an animated response and a heated face-off between the duo.
Tensions briefly peaked as both players moved toward each other, with a potential scuffle only prevented after teammates and on-field officials quickly stepped in to separate them and restore order. The situation was contained before it could further disrupt the high-intensity contest.
Following the match, the PSL match referee imposed a 10 per cent fine on both players for violating the code of conduct. Officials confirmed that Amir and Faheem accepted responsibility for their actions.
