PTI-backed independents all set to join Sunni Ittehad Council

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Sunni Ittehad Counci have entered into a parliamentary alliance in Punjab and Sindh.
Sources said that nitty-gritty details between the two parties have finalized for the alliance in the two provincial assemblies and PTI-backed independent members in Punjab and Sindh will join Sunni Ittehad Council.
Sources said that talks are under way for a possible alliance between two parties at the federal level. PTI-backed independent members will submit affidavits on Monday, formally joining the Sunni Ittehad Council, the sources said.
According to the sources, PTI leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Sunni Ittehad Council leader Sahibzara Hamid Raza will decide the terms of the parliamentary alliance at meeting scheduled for Sunday.
According to some reports, the PTI core committee had opposed an alliance with the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the Pakistan People’s Party.
