ISLAMABAD: According to latest reports the Jamaat-e-Islami’s (JI) emergency session of its Central Majlis Shura has concluded. During the session, JI’s Deputy Emir Liaquat Baloch presented a comprehensive report on the party’s engagements with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
JI’s spokesperson Qaiser Sharif highlighted the significance of the discussions surrounding the leadership’s contacts with PTI officials.

The meeting, which took place against the backdrop of growing concerns over electoral integrity, saw both parties engaging in dialogue regarding allegations of rigging and the broader state of democracy in the country. A notable event in the ongoing discourse was the recent encounter between a PTI delegation led by former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser and JI’s Qaiser Sharif. During the meeting, issues pertaining to electoral malpractice were thoroughly examined.
Expressing solidarity with their constituents, Qaiser Sharif affirmed the party’s commitment to continuing protests against perceived injustices in the electoral process, emphasising the importance of upholding democratic principles. Additionally, he indicated that communication between JI and PTI would persist as both parties seek to address shared concerns and grievances.
