ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Tuesday was released from custody.
The government on Monday initiated legal action against PTI leadership for violating an agreement related to the September 8 rally in the federal capital.
According to the police, Gohar has been discharged in the case lodged at Sangi Jani police station.

After his release, Gohar addressed the media and questioned, “What law in the world mandates that holding a public rally until 8pm instead of 7pm would lead to arrests or detentions?”.
He further asked National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to take action over desecration of parliament house.
Imran Khan’s party successfully held a rally in Islamabad on September 8, despite clashes with the capital’s police that resulted in injuries to dozens of policemen and PTI workers.
Authorities had granted PTI permission for the public gathering on Sunday. However, they had also transformed Islamabad into a fortified city, using shipping containers to block all roads leading to neighbouring Rawalpindi in anticipation of the rally. Additionally, over 6,000 personnel from the police and the Frontier Constabulary (FC) were stationed along the routes.
