ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman has filed a formal appeal in the Supreme Court, seeking protection against possible arrest in a series of cases lodged against him.
The legal petition has been formally submitted by Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi, the lawyer representing the PTI Chairman, invoking the provisions of Article 184(3) of the constitution.
The respondents named in the petition encompass the federal government, Inspector Generals of Punjab and Balochistan, the Superintendent of Attock Jail, as well as the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and the Anti-terrorism courts of both Lahore and Islamabad.
The petition underscores that the PTI Chairman has allegedly become a target of sustained “political victimization.”

Furthermore, the petition contends that previous bail pleas on behalf of the PTI leader have been dismissed due to perceived “procedural intricacies.”
The petition urges the Supreme Court to overturn the Trial Court’s rulings, which rejected prior pre arrest bail petitions without delving into the substantive merits, citing procedural technicalities. The petition additionally implores the Court to consider and accept the current appeal.
PTI chief is already serving his three-year sentence in District Jail Attock after being convicted in the famous Toshakhana case.
