ISLAMABAD: Imprisoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief took legal action on Monday by filing a petition in a special court against the Attock jail superintendent.
Khan alleged that the superintendent had denied him permission to communicate with his sons over the phone.
Last month, a special court, established to hear cases registered under the Official Secrets Act, had granted Khan permission to speak with his sons.
However, in the petition filed on Monday, the PTI chief requested contempt of court proceedings against the Attock jail superintendent, claiming that the superintendent had violated the court’s order.
In his petition, Khan asserted that jail officials had refused him permission to engage in telephonic conversations with his sons on the grounds that he was being held under the Secrets Act.

Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain took action by issuing a notice to Superintendent Attock Jail Arif Shehzad and requested a report on the implementation of the court’s order, with a deadline set for September 15.
Imran Khan, who is currently in judicial custody until September 13 in a cipher case, has been detained in Attock prison since his arrest on August 05, following a conviction in the Toshakhana case.
