PTI starts hunger strike to demand release of party leaders

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) set up a hunger strike camp outside the Parliament House in Islamabad on Tuesday to demand the release of party founder Imran Khan and other leaders.

Qaiser, along with PTI leaders Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Ali Muhammad Khan, and several others, were seen sitting outside Parliament today to register their protest.

Qaiser told the media that the party had launched a “local protest” in response to what they view as victimization.

The Sunni Ittehad Council has also made the decision to hold a hunger strike camp in Punjab on July 24 from 3pm to 7pm outside the Punjab Assembly, in the federal capital, imitating the PTI.

Malik Ahmad Bachhar, the leader of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly, alleged that Imran Khan gave the order to start the hunger strike.
