PTI’s former aide appointed special assistant on investment

ISLAMABAD: A former aide and donor of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman has been appointed as Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar’s special assistant on investment.

Muhammad Tahir Javed, a Texan-Pakistani businessman, has been entrusted with the investment portfolio and has joined the cabinet with immediate effect, as per a notification from the PM’s office.

PM Kakar has also granted Javed the same benefits and privileges as a minister of state.

Javed, who asserts close ties with the Joe Biden administration, pledges to attract foreign investment to Pakistan in his new role and offers full support to the interim administration. He believes that Pakistan’s current challenges are temporary and will be surmounted in due course.

Muhammad Tahir Javed is the proprietor of Riceland Healthcare, a US-based multi-million-dollar health company, and has previously provided financial contributions and campaigned for Imran Khan and the PTI in the United States during the party’s tenure in power, as reported by The News.
