The Punjab government has announced a three-day series of province-wide events to mark the anniversary of “Marka-e-Haq,” with celebrations scheduled from May 8 to May 10.

Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bukhari made the announcement while speaking to reporters outside the Punjab Assembly in Lahore. She said the events aim to honour what she described as a significant national milestone and to pay tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces for their role in the conflict.

Azma Bukhari said the past year reflected what she called a “remarkable success,” crediting the armed forces for their determination and effectiveness during Marka-e-Haq. She stated that the outcome of the conflict demonstrated that success in war, according to her remarks, depends not only on equipment but also on resolve, unity, and national spirit.

The minister also paid tribute to the martyrs of the Pakistan Army on behalf of herself and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, announcing that the day marking what she described as the adversary’s defeat would be observed as a national celebration.

As part of the planned activities, a large-scale patriotic concert will be held at Liberty Roundabout in Lahore on the night of May 8–9, with thousands of citizens expected to attend. The event will feature national songs and performances aimed at highlighting national pride and remembrance of fallen soldiers.

A central ceremony is also scheduled for May 10, which will be attended by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The event will focus on paying tribute to martyrs and veterans while reaffirming commitments to national security and defence.

The provincial minister concluded by expressing confidence in Pakistan’s future security and said the nation stands united with its armed forces.
