LAHORE: In a significant move to enhance the ease of doing business and boost investment in Punjab, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired a special meeting that delved into the establishment of a one-window operation centre’ to facilitate investors and industrialists in the province.

The meeting also reviewed proposals regarding the “-one-roof, one-stop” concept.

The one-window operation centre’ is poised to simplify and expedite the processes for investors and industrialists, making Punjab an even more attractive destination for business ventures.

The meeting was told that the Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC), the Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC), and the Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) will provide services at the one-window operation centre.

Moreover, the meeting emphasized that officials from various departments, including local government, environment, housing, and others, would be available at the one-window centre to offer comprehensive support. LESCO and Sui gas counters will also be set up within the center, ensuring quick and hassle-free access to essential utilities.

The ‘one-window centre’ will offer services such as obtaining no-objection certificates (NOCs) for land transfer, map approval, and environmental clearances. To further simplify the process, the officials at the one-window centre will assist applicants in filling out forms, streamlining the operational processes.

A crucial aspect of the initiative involves implementing a system to track actions and ensure prompt completion. If an action is not completed within 10 days, a red mark will appear on the dashboard of the relevant Secretary, enhancing accountability.

To oversee and manage the ‘one-window centre’ effectively, an operational review committee and a steering committee have been established.

The meeting was also attended by Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce SM Tanveer and other officials.
