LAHORE: The Punjab government will provide interest-free loans to 70,000 pepole for building homes on plots up to 5 marlas and will also offer subsidies to reduce construction costs.

A meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz reviewed the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar”, programme. It was announced that application forms for the program can be obtained from the offices of Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners.

The model homes for the pilot programme have been completed, with the Chief Minister scheduled to launch the initiative on August 14.

The Chief Minister has directed that no service charges be collected from those receiving loans and ordered the introduction of a toll-free number for inquiries.

Under the initiative, interest-free loans will be provided to 70,000 people for constructing homes on plots ranging from 1 to 5 marlas.
