Punjab police tighten security across major cities

Inspector General of Police Abdul Karim has ordered heightened security measures across Punjab, including Lahore, directing police authorities to strengthen monitoring in markets, sensitive locations, business hubs, and along major highways.

The IG instructed senior officers, including DPOs, to remain active in the field and personally oversee security arrangements to ensure public safety across the province.

He also accentuated closer public engagement, directing police officers to listen to citizens’ concerns in mosques after Friday prayers and resolve issues at the community level. Senior officials were further told to improve doorstep policing and address public complaints promptly.

The directives come as Punjab Police intensify security vigilance and increase patrol activity throughout the province.
