Rains expected from next week: PDMA Punjab issues advisory

LAHORE: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has sounded the alarm bells, urging local administrations to brace for impending rain showers across various pockets of the province from Monday (February 26)
With rain anticipated to persist in upper regions until February 27, districts including Attock, Rawalpindi, and Jhelum are expected to be lashed by rain, while Bhakkar, Leh, and Dera Ghazi Khan may encounter both rain and hail.
Moreover, there’s a looming threat of heavy downpours in several urban hubs, notably Lahore, which could significantly disrupt normalcy, particularly in terms of road infrastructure and traffic flow.

In response to the imminent weather fluctuations, PDMA has swiftly mobilized, alerting District Emergency Operation Centers to remain on high alert.
Furthermore, directives have been issued to PDMA districts to ensure the readiness of personnel and machinery, underscoring the imperative of proactive measures to mitigate potential risks posed by the anticipated deluge.
